A definite trend to include critters in my work has developed over the last year, so when the opportunity to photograph rising star Georgia K from GAPA Model Agency with an equestrian fashion look arose I was very excited! Our last shoot together was a highlight of 2015 and we pulled together the same team with the amazing Amy Olden doing the hair and make-up.

For this two look test shoot we worked with the theme of Equestrian High Life. For the first look the model showcased coral swimwear poolside at her beautiful home for new body shots. From there we moved the shoot to the Byerley Park Stables for the equestrian session. Although just down the road from each other, we got stuck in the infamous Joburg traffic, and I was getting very nervous about the impeding thunder storm brewing overhead. But wow, was I wrong! This must have been the most beautiful light I have ever shot in. The clouds opened to one side to allow the last rays of the sun to skim over the grazing fields and fall on Georgia, while the dark storm clouds built up behind her creating a dramatic lighting effect.  The energy was amazing! This is definitely going to be a highlight of 2016!!!

I find working with Georgia to be a very serene experience. She doesn’t need much direction, flawlessly moving in front of the camera while I shoot and do my thing. The chemistry is just right.
