As someone who loves to travel, I have always loved culture. The sounds, smells and sights that make a place unique. But behind these sensory triggers are the people that make it so. People who express themselves through their language, habits and clothing, adding vibrancy and life to the places they inhabit. South Africa is particularly rich in diversity, leaving many other countries pale in comparison. Working with the Dipalesa Pitchov Foundation on this project to capture the winners of the Miss Glamorous Free State 2017, we wanted to express this creative and colourful style of contemporary African fashion.Read More
The story of our universe begins with a singularity. Due to some inconceivable force, space expanded, and matter formed. The stars, the earth, oceans, animals and even our bodies, are all made from this matter that has existed since the beginning of time. The dictionary has a term for this collective: NATURE.
We are, quite literally, stardust.Read More
The deeper I delve into the query of my own humanity, the more I discover about the natural world.

A Steampunk styled shoot with fellow photographer Darrell Fraser!
Following onto the Baroque styled shoot I recently shared from my session with photography team Laura and Jaco Van Schoor, other photography friends have expressed their interest in having a styled session with us. The first of these is Darrell Fraser, who wanted to work with a Steampunk styled shoot theme. Anyone who knows me or has followed my work knows that this is one of my favourite subject matters. For those who aren’t familiar with the style, Steampunk is a sub-genre of sci-fi exploring a future in which we have returned to 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.
The first weekend of September saw me hosting two talks at the Kameraz Super Sunday, demonstrating how I use my Photon Studio Lights to set up the lighting to create High Key and Low Key photography respectively.
High key lighting refers to a style of photography accomplished in a studio environmentRead More
Baroque styled shoot with the Van Schoor Family
The Baroque styled shoot I am sharing today resonates with me for a couple of reasons. The first being that I am very proud of this series of portraits.
