Sneak Peek | Arteles Artist Residency | Finland

A sneak peek at the work I created at the Arteles artist residency 2016: Human.Nature

The story of our universe begins with a singularity. Due to some inconceivable force, space expanded and matter formed. The stars, the earth, oceans, animals and even our bodies, are all made up from this matter that existed since the beginning of time. The Oxford Dictionary has a term for this collective: NATURE.

In The Matrix | Conceptual Fashion | Katz Demo

Natalie Field talks on slow-sync flash at  Katz Tech Lab in association with Photon and Vanguard.

During a recent trip to Port Elizabeth I had the opportunity to do an evening talk and live demo at Katz Teck Lab. Steampunk Styled Shoot | Darrell Fraser

A Steampunk styled shoot with fellow photographer Darrell Fraser!

Following onto the Baroque styled shoot I recently shared from my session with photography team Laura and Jaco Van Schoor, other photography friends have expressed their interest in having a styled session with us. The first of these is Darrell Fraser, who wanted to work with a Steampunk styled shoot theme. Anyone who knows me or has followed my work knows that this is one of my favourite subject matters. For those who aren’t familiar with the style, Steampunk is a sub-genre of sci-fi exploring a future in which we have returned to 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.

Baroque Styled Shoot | Van Schoor Family

Baroque styled shoot with the Van Schoor Family

The Baroque styled shoot I am sharing today resonates with me for a couple of reasons. The first being that I am very proud of this series of portraits. Secondly, because it reminds me of traditional art, the painted portrait commissioned by the client and hung upon the wall as a reflection of themselves and their status in society. Read More
